The two-handed medicine ball push up will primarily target your pectoralis major. The two-handed medicine ball push ups will also work on the deltoids and the triceps. The instability of the medicine balls will better engage your core.
To perform the two-handed medicine ball push up properly:
- Start off with your knees on the floor.
- With two medicine balls in front of you, place one hand on each of the medicine balls.
- The medicine ball inline with your shoulders under your chest.
- Your arms should be straight to start.
- Your feet should be close together with straight legs.
- Squeeze your glutes and abs to keep your legs and back in a straight line.
- Your head should be inline with your body and it should stay in this position during the push up.
- Lower your body until your chest nearly touches the ground and pause before pushing yourself back up to the starting position.
- Remember to keep your core tight during the push up.
- Rotate hands to work on both sides evenly.
