Research done by the American Council on Exercise released that advanced kettlebell workout subjects burned an average of 272 calories after only 20 minutes of a kettlebell workout. The research revealed that the average workout subject burned roughly 6.6 calories per minute. It would take a runner running at a 6 minute mile pace to burn the equivalent calories in this time frame.

The kettlebell workout causes a full body muscle activation and full body workout which is the reason this workout has such rapid results. On top of burning calories quicker, kettlebell users will also see improve strength, power, speed, endurance, posture and flexibility.

Sample Kettlebell workout:
A kettlebell workout should start with a 5-7 minute warm-up of jogs, high knees, butt kicks, lunges and a stretch.

Round 1:

  • 10 one arm kettlebell swings (Right Arm)
  • 10 one arm kettlebell swings (Left Arm)
  • One minute of jump roping
  • REST (30 sec - 1 min)

Round 2:

  • 10 one arm kettlebell snatches (Right Arm)
  • 10 one arm kettlebell snatches (Left Arm)
  • One minute of jump roping
  • REST (30 sec - 1 min)


Round 3:

  • 10 two arm kettlebell swing
  • One minute of jump roping
  • REST (30 sec - 1 min)


Round 4:

  • 10 one arm kettlebell clean and jerk (Right Arm)
  • 10 one arm kettlebell clean and jerk (Left Arm)
  • One minute of jump roping
  • REST (30 sec - 1 min)

Round 5:

  • 10 one arm kettlebell swings (Right Arm)
  • 10 one arm kettlebell swings (Left Arm)


As the workouts get easier, take shorter breaks and work towards ten rounds with a heavier kettlebell.
