The necks 4 muscle groups: Rotators, Flexors, Lateral Flexors, and Extensors.
Rotators: Are responsible for head rotation move the head from side to side, as if to look over the shoulder.
Flexors: Are responsible for flexion move the head down, as if to touch the chin to the chest.
Lateral Flexors: Are responsible for lateral flexion which tilts the head to the side, as if to touch the ear to the shoulder.
Extensors: Are responsible for extension which tilts the head backward, as if to look skyward.
